GIS Internship - Portfolio

In my last week of GIS Internship, I created a "paper" GIS portfolio representing my work and achievements performed during my tenure thus far in my quest to seek a graduate certificate in GIS from UWF.  My “paper” portfolio includes a cover page, table of contents, goals, resume, sample coursework, recognition and awards, unofficial transcript, and contact information.  Creating the portfolio reminded me of the variety of topics and techniques I have learned in the program.   It was difficult to choose which images to select for the portfolio because each lesson was so unique or sometimes built upon a previous assignment.   I have two remaining courses to take in order to complete my certification requirements.   I am looking forward to returning to using cartographic skills to create products that illuminate information for the end user.

In addition to my portfolio, I have recorded an audio response to the following questions:

  • Do any of your portfolio examples use open data? How did you use it? Did you have any challenges with it?
  • What is your favorite map example in your portfolio and why?
